Posted by Food Promotions On 8:39 PM 0 comments
Miraku is having Unagi Promotion from the month of July until August, and Food Promotions team decided to check it out last weekend.

DSC06654 copy
The menu and the classic table setting of Miraku. If you plan to go, it is advisable to make an appointment for a private room.

DSC06655 copy (2) copy
Miraku is a restaurant that respect their customers' feedback, for example the chopsticks in Miraku are replaced now. During our last visit, we were still using the wooden chopstick which is claimed not hygenic because it is bleached.

DSC06666 copy (2)
We kick off our dinner with this Appetizer.

As we are loyal fans of Miraku Salad, we ordered it as soon as we saw it in the menu.
DSC06661 copy
Miraku Salad RM 18.00 (small)

This salad tasted good; yet at an affordable price. Miraku Salad's vegetables are crunchy and blended well with the slices of salmon sashimi, crab meat, octopus, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and tomato dressing. The tomato dressing of the salad is made of tomato puree and mayonnaise grind together.

Next up is the 2 orders from the Unagi Promotion menu.
DSC06676 copy
Unagi Kabayaki RM 14.90

DSC06675 copy
This is the grilled eel with sweet sauce. Unagi served are fresh. How do we define it's freshness? It's fat and bouncy. You will know the difference if you compare it to the one sold at the malls.

DSC06701 copy
Unatamadon RM 19.90

DSC06713 copy
Unatama don is short for unagi don (don means bowl) and tamago (egg). This bowl of rice has many slices of unagi and is filling. The portion served is good for one pax.

Next, we ordered the famous Japanese Soba. It is the simplest meal, yet hardest to prepare.
DSC06744 copy
Cha Soba RM 20.00
Cold green tea flavored Buckwheat Noodle with cold dipping soba sauce.

FV-090714-Miraku_94 copy
Mix all the ingredients together in the cold dipping soba sauce and dip the noodles in for the taste of the soba sauce. Do not keep the noodles too long as it is to be eaten when served cold.

And the dinner set we ordered.
DSC06677 copy
Gyu Toubanyaki Zen RM 42.00
The complete set consists of kobachi, zensai, salad, sashimi, touban yaki, nimono, rice, miso soup, pickles, chawan-mushi and dessert.

DSC06692 copy
Rice and sidelines.

DSC06683 copy
Slices of Beef (Touban Yaki)

DSC06734 copy
The technique of grilling the beef slice to medium well is to turn the beef slice every 4 to 5 seconds until you see the top layer is cooked.

We ended the dinner with sips of cocktails and mocktails.
FV-090714-Miraku_88 copy
Cocktails (front) and Mocktails (behind)

Cocktails (from left): Sake Margarita and Sake Screw Driver; RM 10 each.
Mocktails (from left): Fruit Fantasy, Fruit Punch and Tropical Delight; RM 12 each.

Environment & Cleanliness: 9/10
This restaurant gives us a comfortable feeling. The respectful chefs, waiter and waitresses wear formal attire and greeted each and every guest.

Food Presentation: 9/10
Food prepared are all arranged well presented, very similar to what you see from the menu.

Portion: 7.5/10
Portion served for a person is good enough. If you wanted to eat a few things at once, you can order the smaller portion or ala carte.
